However, in less than an hour you can be in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges (also known as the Dandenongs), which are famous for the mountain ash forests, peaceful gardens and a different type of culture: the bed and breakfast culture.

Here, you’ll find Candlelight Cottages: four self-contained cottages with private spas and real log fires. They are nestled among the picturesque villages of Mount Dandenong, Olinda, Sassafras, Belgrave and Monbulk, 600 metres above sea level.

Our Cottage in the Forest, hidden away on its own acreage of forested land between Sassafras and Olinda, is the perfect choice for a “secret” getaway.

Clare Cottage is just out of Sassafras villae – perfect for two or for two couples or a family to share in a mountain forest setting at the end of a quiet road.

Our cottages in the Dandenong Ranges are the perfect spot to explore the local attractions: immerse yourself in the forests or enjoy arts and crafts shops, galleries,top-end restaurants (Wild Oak, Immerse, Credo and Ranges are just a few) or laidback cafes.

We are 45 minutes away from the Yarra Valley wineries and only 15 minutes from the Puffing Billy.
