The Bannockburn Railway Station, now simply called ‘The Station’, was officially opened in 1863. It is a magnificent old bluestone building, which has had a number of personas – including the current Bed and Breakfast (under new ownership since the start of 2009).

The Station is a wonderful mix of old and new, with train enthusiasts eager to hear a train rumbling down the tracks (this happens infrequently because, although it is a working line, it is just used as freight route). With three bedrooms (2 Double Rooms – with double beds & 1 Single Room – 2 single beds), Bathroom, TV room and fully functional Kitchen, not to mention a mere 20 minutes to Geelong and the Princess Highway, which will take you to the beaches and then to the Great Ocean Road.

You could do some shopping in Geelong, or for those with an artistic taste there is an arts trail and a wine trail
through the Golden Plains Shire – The Station has it all.
